Emmanuelle Vaugier was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1976. Emmanuelle grew up in a household where french was the primary spoken language. She spent her formative years at an all-girls private school, where at the tender age of 14 she took modeling courses and it wasnât long âtill acting attracted her attention. In 1995 Emmanuelle made her debut with a small role in the made-for-television movie A Family Divided, starring alongside Faye Dunaway and Stephen Collins. From there her career really took off, over the next few years she appeared in countless movies and television guest spots. Her most memorable roles being Noella DâAngelo in the T.V series Madison, as well as a role in the Josh Hartnett movie 40 Days and 40 Nights, about a young man who vows to stay celibate during the 40 days of Lent. In 2000 Vaugier had found her claim to fame as Dr. Helen Bryce in The WBâs Smallville. Appearing in 9 episodes, her character became the wife of local villain Lex Luthor. The role gained her many fans. Continuing on the little screen, Emmanuelle made appearances on Foxâs North Shore, One Tree Hill and UPNâs hit series Veronica Mars. Her resumĂ© grew even further with more made-for-television movies; Waterâs Edge, Cerberus, Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss, Painkiller Jane and a leading role as Alexandra âNightingaleâ Morgan in House of the Dead 2. Next Vaugier added video game to her list of accomplishments, she was the voice and likeness of Nikki in Electronic Artâs new adrenaline-filled street racing game Need for Speed: Carbon. Trying her hand at comedy, the actress made a guest spot in Two and a Half Men, as Mia, the ballet teacher who catches Charlieâs (Charlie Sheen) eye and comes close to putting an end to Charlieâs bachelor days. Speaking of her role Emmanuelle said: âI had to learn the whole timing thing and what works and what doesnât. The most rewarding thing is to hear people laugh when you do something funny. Itâs a good feeling, terrifying and satisfying all at once.â Emmanuelle also had guest roles on Big Shots and Supernatural. Emmanuelle starred in Saw II, the number one box office hit released by Lionâs Gate and was back for a cameo in Saw IV. In 2006 it was announced she had landed a role as Det. Jennifer Angell on CSI: NY, a spin off of the hugely successful CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. With time her character became more and more prominent. In episode 13 of season 4, Vaugierâs characterâs named seemed to have changed from Jennifer to Jessica. Emmanuelle is expected to return for season 5. 2008 has been a busy year for Emmanuelle; she appeared in Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation along side boyfriend Josh Cooke, and returned for a cameo in an episode of Two and a Half Men. Vaugier will also star in the Uwe Bollâs Far Cry which will be released in the US in August. The actress is currently filming a role in Dolanâs Cadillac, a new multi-million-dollar feature-film adaptation of a short story from Stephen King.
